WHAT IT DOES

Hedge trimmers cut and shape new growth from hedges, bushes and shrubs. They can be used in topiary sculpture if you’re ambitious!

Hedge trimmers should not be used to cut branches, boughs, or wood that’s already been removed. For these, consider using a bush saw, hand saw, lopper, or pruning saw depending on thickness.

For pruning plants and fine shaping, consider secateurs for thin growth and garden shears for medium growth.

Hedge trimmers come in multiple blade lengths ranging from 30cm to 75cm: For a smaller hedge or for a single bush or shrub, choose a blade under 50 cm. For a larger hedge, you can go up to the maximum length blade. Keep in mind that the longer the blade, the heavier the trimmer will be.
